As someone that doesn't read much fiction nor has any familiarity and/or knowledge of "Vampires/Werewolves", I was pleasantly surprised by how entertaining this was.

This is a short read so those reviewers asking for more historical context I think are being very nit picky of sorts. It's hard for me to describe this book without giving too much away so I'll say this.

It takes less than an hour to read. The story isn't boring by any means and it moves along very well. The book is clearly set up for a sequel that I can't wait for.

There is one great quote within the book that I will gladly highlight. In our culture today where "bravado" (often "false")is lauded. I sense the author (and I could be wrong) was trying send a message out with this and that quote is, "It takes bravery to run from a fight that you cannot win. Trust me when the time comes, you will return and fight for us". Basically in my opinion, Prince Kolbe despite his eagerness to battle was fighting a fight that he was going to clearly lose and it would not have helped humanity by "standing up".

Similarly how often times in life, it's taught and preached for us to take on challenges we're honestly NOT prepared for at various times. I see this correlation within Princess Kristin's overconfidence in battle also. Her eagerness to battle didn't allow her to see and analyze the signs around her.

Again at the bare minimum the book was entertaining and isn't that why we're reading it in the first place??

The Cries Of Vampira The Horror Of Gaad Grey The Evil Alpha Werewolf Volume 1 Sean H Robertson 9781453808412 Books Reviews

At long last, I have found it -- the horror counterpart of "The Eye of Argon." A book so grotesquely bad that every part of it stinks of decrepit ineptitude. The Holy Grail of bad vampire fiction.

What book is this? It's "The Cries Of Vampira The Horror Of Gaad Grey, The Evil Alpha Werewolf -Volume 1," a novella that manages to rape vampires, werewolves, Christianity, Norse myth, romance, and the entire country of Scotland. And as if the story wasn't bad enough, Sean H. Robertson writes like the brain-damaged lovechild of Laurell K. Hamilton and Gloria Tesch.

The story takes place in Vampira, which apparently is located somewhere in Scotland (yes, they have a country inside a country), which is ruled by the benevolent and peace-loving vampires. Boggle at that. Their mortal enemies are the Gray werewolves, who are evil because... well, because they are.

Vampirian Princess Kylie decides to go off alone, hoping to make peace with the evil werewolf warlord Gaad Grey. Shockingly, he doesn't want peace, so he takes her prisoner. Kylie's triplet sister Kristin decides she's going to go off and rescue her sister, but she obviously isn't TOO worried since she wants to have sex with her boyfriend first. And since Kristin ALSO decides to go alone (and dressed in bright fuschia), you can guess what happens to HER.

I kid you not, "The Cries Of Vampira The Horror Of Gaad Grey, The Evil Alpha Werewolf -Volume 1" is one of the worst-written books I have ever subjected myself to. It reads like an "Underworld" fanfic by a kid who's just discovered four-letter-words and implied sex, but hasn't yet learned how to write... anything else.

Robertson's prose is HORRENDOUS -- his descriptions ("his infinitely sexy eyes"), dialogue ("As you drink this, think of it as Living Waters replenishing your dehydrated, wandering soul"), the telling-instead-of-showing ("Princess Kristin is now in a severely humbled and depressive state"), and the countless "As you know Bob" speeches. As if those weren't annoying enough, he tacks on the word "Vampirian" onto half the nouns.

That isn't even dealing with the plot, which is basically about two idiot princesses wandering off into enemy territory during a war. Robertson tosses in random plot twists with no foreshadowing (oh look, a traitor we've never even seen before), and bizarre filler scenes like a lovelorn chambermaid watching Prince Kolbe have a drunken threesome. She's deeply hurt by this, but she DOESN'T LEAVE.

And Robertson depicts his "Vampirians" as a bunch of wussy, dimwitted Mary Sues who are all things good, pure, wise, peace-loving and so on. Even worse, these are CHRISTIAN vampires, since there are random references to the "Great I AM" -- but apparently the Norse god Loki is hanging around, and this trickster god has somehow become synonymous with Satan. It's just a big, goofy, sloppy mess with no apparent thought behind it.

The lulz and facepalming come thick and fast in "The Cries Of Vampira The Horror Of Gaad Grey, The Evil Alpha Werewolf -Volume 1," a towering monument to ineptitude. And it ends on a cliffhanger, too.
I would like to thank Sean H. Roberson for the free pdf copy that he provided! I don't even know where to begin. First, The story starts out with the Vampirians and Grey Wolves battling one another. There are many casualties, including the Vampirian King. Sounds like a good beginning...or not. This book was pretty shallow on character development. The author didn't develop the characters enough to like nor dislike them. The characters are, unfortunately, very 2 dimensional. The entire story seemed very rushed. I didn't get a chance to care about, or hate, the characters. Overall the story could have been a great read if there had been a connection . This book is listed as Young Adult I would not recommend this book for teenagers. The book contains violence and sex not suitable for younger readers.
I Loved it!

Young love, fights to death, deception and victors this book has it all. Looking forward to the next volume of "The Cries of Vampira".

Excellent reading.

Congratulation to the Author.

The mysterious world of Vampires and Werewolves are exposed at a new level in Sean H. Robertson's The Cries of Vampira The Horror of Gaad Grey, the Evil Alpha Werewolf-Volume 1. This unique novel has everything ranging from war, love, and honor, that will excite readers from all ages.
This book definitely puts a twist on the ever popular theme of vampire vs. werewolves and good vs. evil. Set up much like a fairytale told as a bedtime story, but with a more graphic view for the adults. It's a short book (70-80 pgs) so it is a quick read and leaves us with bated breath for the second installation as it ends with a cliff hanger. Got to keep them coming back for more, right?! I think you will find this novella an enjoyable read.
