The Studying Hours How to Date a Douchebag edition by Sara Ney Romance eBooks Reviews

I have been anticipating this book since we learned of the title, (seriously, how awesome is that title?) and my need to read it has only increased with every teaser Sara Ney shared (rude much?).

Sebastian ‘Oz’ Osborne quickly became an endearing douchebag. For me, what I loved most about Oz, besides his sarcastic and dirty humor (one scene literally had me bothered in the best way but also laughing my ass off) was the fact that he didn't change after meeting Jameson. He didn't do a 180 and suddenly had a whole new and different personality, I really liked that. I believe that love, real love doesn't change who you are or your personality, it should only enhance who you are and make you have the best version of you.

I feel like that is what happened between Oz and James, they were good for each, because they didn't try and change one another, they accepted who the other person is. Though, what I love that they did for each other was to push the other out of their comfort zone.

James also helped Oz, she allowed him to be who he is and eventually figure out that he was the relationship type and he didn't have to be another person in order to be in one. Oz really matured when it came to his emotions.... most of the time.

I related so much with Jameson, the sarcasm, sass, and her sense of loss in regards to living her life to the fullest. I felt like she could be me or at least be a person I could imagine myself befriending. She really got to me and even though this book had a lot of comedic elements and scenes, it also had it's deep moments, where it hit you right in the feels.

The banter and dialogue bwetween the characters were on point, I instantly fell in love with both their personalities.

What I love the most about this book, besides its amazing writing, awesome characters was how it made laugh from the get-go. I laughed from the very first page, I giggled, even snorted a couple of time (not cocaine people, jeez get your mind out of the gutter, I'm talking to you Sara and Christine).

This book made me laugh, you know those kind of laughs that come from deep in your belly, which shakes your entire body? Yeah, it really made me laugh. I really needed this book at the time in my life that I read it.

Thank you for writing this book Sara!
Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t it right that once (maybe twice) in our lives we’ve come across that someone we loathe to no ends? That excessively haughty someone you can’t get rid of but at the same time causes commotion to your beating heart? A douchebag that’s a good catch?

The female major character, Jameson, radiated that untouchable prudish vibe but was unexpectedly good-natured and smart. She’s talented and a little vixen in her own right. Although Sebastian upped his persuasion skills, he still couldn’t figure out how his star athlete status was of no use to her. Sebastian Osborne is the definitive guide to arrogance and absurdity! I found humor at his drop-the-bomb-whenever-wherever kind of mouth and he also irritated me to the highest level sometimes! But how in the universe did this male character capture my heart? Well, despite these hiccups, he was actually charming, unpretentious, and subtly romantic. He transformed into this sweet Adonis most especially when he’s on the verge of begging, and became over protective of Jameson when he really put his mind into it. She was the balance to his crazy player’s world. He was the fire to her quiet confident soul.

Goodness gracious! The chemistry between Jameson and Sebastian kicked me right to Pleasantville. The story shone for its slow burn pacing. And as soon as both characters gave in to their obvious electricity I couldn’t help but clutch my thighs together. Seriously! Every stolen moment heightened the sparks even more and every push and pull was worth experiencing. How Sara Ney looped her words to describe a particular heated moment gave me that pungent feeling that travelled from my toes all the way up, with a lasting stopover at my heart. Her words were unique and inviting even for a romantic comedy.

I loved that Sebastian and Jameson were glued to the hip for the most part, but I honestly longed for those endearingly amusing secondary characters that’s Sara Ney’s known for. I wished that the MCs had more interactions with the supporting characters, not really to overpower them, but just to compliment the quirkiness of both J and S. They were a beautiful pair to begin with but I really think they could have blossomed more! The rude awakening that Sebastian experienced towards the end may be a little clichéd for some, but for me, it was just right and brought out a fresh perspective to this light love story.

If you get off from reading books that make you giggle, smile and squirm with pleasure then I suggest you one-click this wrestling sports romance. Yes, you read that right – wrestling! Hot off the grill and not your typical menu. To add, you’ll definitely look forward to the ridiculously funny pick-up lines that give a catchy introduction to each chapter. Sara Ney jump started the How to Date a Douchebag Series with a story that brought me back to my younger days and ways. I know this series can offer more and I can bet my date’s sweet rump that the next big D will be another delectable treat. Possibly even better!!!
